History of SonLife

SonLife Community church was founded in February of 1998 when Fond du Lac Community Church (Now Mission Creek Church) saw the need for a church in Wrenshall, MN. A group of faithful believers started meeting under the pastoral leadership of Mike Keller. SonLife was accepted as a Village Missions church shortly after it was founded. Mike and his wife Michelle lead SonLife Community church for 17 years. Even though SonLife did not own its own building, it continued to reach into the community of Wrenshall.

In June of 2014, Pastor Mike felt it was time for him to move on, and Village Missions sent Pastor Paul to lead the church. Paul and his wife Denise have shepherded the flock at SonLife since August of 2014. In June 2016, God provided a building for SonLife Community Church to call home. We moved into the St. John’s Lutheran Church. The building was dedicated in September 2016. Besides having a place for our regular Sunday Services, God has opened many doors for ministry through the building including funerals and funeral dinners, weddings, and benefit dinners for members of our community.

In February 2018, SonLife Community church celebrated it’s 20 year anniversary. The church continues to thrive and be an outreach into Wrenshall and the surrounding community. In recent years, we have been able to expand our outreach by having youth and children’s ministries.

If you were to walk into a worship service on Sunday morning, you would find a group of people who consider themselves to be a family. It would not take long before you felt like you belonged to the family as well. They love the Lord and desire to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
